The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen
...or, this is a "What are You Listening To" post.

At present, my four-year-old 120GB iPod Classic's still going strong, and the space is practically mostly used up--there's only eight gigabytes left, last check. I attribute this to how like a sponge I am with music (and a lot of other things, actually)--whatever genre/art/band's out there that snags even a tiny smidge of my interest, I look into it all in.

And thus, posts like these are very necessary. These are the last three songs that played prior to this post.
-------

Confession: I've only known of Lana Del Rey's work very recently--like what, a month or two ago? But I'm hooked. This, particularly, is a good example of why--the cinematic feel to her music really gets me; it puts you in a mood about a few decades old.
-----

Music like this a guilty pleasure? Nah, I'm very open to liking game soundtracks, especially rhythm games. I do hope you guys grew up with Dance Dance Revolution or games like that; I'd say you're missing a lot considering the music in these games. This is an example; they just nail it. It's terribly catchy.

------

For same reasons as the second one, but I especially like the sound of this guy's work. It's hard to describe, but it's like being out in the countryside while you're wherever you may be.

So I find that I like doing these kinds of posts, and I think I might do some more, because there's really a lot of stuff in my library. That, and there's always new music coming out.

That is exactly how I feel about Lana's music.

I like the first enough to be inclined to check more of her stuff (I know of her but only in abstract sense), couldn't stand the second (dance music grates on my 95% of the time) and found the last relatively soothing on the background.
